What to Expect From a Modern Studio Headshot Session in Boston

“I’m not photogenic and I have no idea how to pose.”
Those are probably the two things I hear most often when someone comes into my studio for professional headshots.
Most of the women I photograph are camera shy. They are executives, researchers, sales professionals, consultants and business owners. They are great at what they do, but being in front of a camera is not part of their everyday job.
Maybe you are used to thinking a headshot session means showing up, saying “cheese,” hearing one click and getting your photo.
That is not how I work...
Your session starts with professional hair and makeup styling to get you camera ready!
The goal isn't to make you look different. It's to make you look polished, refreshed and like yourself.
Then we choose your outfits and what you need your images for, whether that's LinkedIn, your company website or your professional profile. You Don't Have to Know How to Pose
My job is to guide you through the entire session.
I use what I call soft posing, giving you simple directions on how to position your body, shoulders, face and hands. I also want you to relax, laugh and have fun.
If you get nervous, that's okay. We take a breath and start again. There is no rush.
We Look at the Images Together. You get to see your images during the session, so we can make adjustments right away.
I will find the most flattering way to photograph you because your headshot may only be on someone's screen for a few seconds before they form an impression.
You don't have to be photogenic.
You don't have to know how to pose.
Just show up. I'll take care of the rest.
